Feeling Raw?

Eating strictly raw food is supposed to result in weight loss as well as faster healing, fewer digestive problems, more energy, increased mental clarity and needing less sleep.  That, coupled with the fact that raw foods are natural and fresh – the ultimate in clean eating, sounds terrific to me… so much so that I’ve occasionally toyed with the idea of adopting a raw food diet.

Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to bring myself to try it. It just seems too hard. I have enough trouble staying on track while eating out with my BF and my friends as it is. Imagine if I was trying to eat only raw stuff!! Yikes! My choices would be extremely limited, and I don’t think I’d ever hear the end of it from my peeps. It would be an exercise in frustration.

Whenever anyone asks me about how to implement a diet-and-fitness lifestyle change in their own lives, I always tell them to make sure that whatever they do fits how they live.   Our day-to-day routines are so different; that’s why there’s never a one-size-fits-all solution.  What matters, in the end, is that you develop a food plan you can maintain. The greatest plan in the world is not going to be great for you if you can’t maintain it.

For that reason – for the time being – my raw food adventure will remain in my mind. J

    You could simply start by drinking green smoothies in the morning or eating some fresh fruit – and voila – you’re eating a Raw vegan breakfast.

    You don’t have to go 100% – it’s not all or nothing. Just start adding some more fresh whole fruits, veggies and nuts/seeds to your life and you’re successfully eating more Raw.
