Feeling Raw: Follow-Up

February 27, 2008 at 1:46 am 1 comment

My post about raw food caught the eye of Kristen Suzanne of Kristen’s Raw, a website “launched in January of 2007 to provide information, products, services, advice, and recommendations that make it easy for anybody to adopt the Raw, vegan lifestyle.”

She was very complimentary about my weight loss, and she raised an excellent point about adopting a raw food diet. She reminded me that it’s not an all-or-nothing proposition. That’s true of so many things, and it’s an easy fact to forget.

When you’re implementing your lifestyle change, remember that it’s okay – even preferable – to incorporate elements of any plan that will work for you. Create your own plan with bits and pieces of other systems; add your own unique twist; and voila… you’ve now got a system that works beautifully for you.

Kristen noted that I am already incorporating raw foods into my diet by eating lots of fresh fruits and veggies. True that! She encouraged me to continue adding raw foods to my diet, rather than making a full-on switch. I am going to follow her advice, and I’m going to take it a step further by trying the Blueberry Cardamom Breakfast Smoothie from her blog. You may want to check it out, too. It sounds delish!
