Healthy Eating Off-Road

My BF and I do a lot of offroading here in the Nevada desert.  He’s tricking out a little Geo Tracker with all sorts of nifty gadgets, and we’ve joined a great local back-roading group. It’s been a hoot exploring and making new friends.

I keep it healthy by stocking our cooler with clean-eating, easy-to-eat goodies. 

  • Bottled water (lots of it in case we get stuck out there)
  • Light string cheese in single-serve packages
  • Apples
  • A mixed veggie tray (I toss the ranch dip into the trash bag we keep in the truck.)
  • ZBars in Chocolate Brownie & Chocolate Chip flavors
  • 1-cup servings of Kashi GOLEAN Original cereal (10g fiber and 13g protein for just 140 calories a cup)
  • A couple of boxes of South Beach whole-wheat wrap kits in a variety of flavors (They even come with their own spoon for the sugar-free jello!)
  • Unsweetened vanilla almond milk in tight-lidded travel mugs
  • A couple of Vertigo Pops (for something sweet)

This list of tasty treats also works for bringing lunches to work, taking road trips or camping.
