A new recipe to try

Unsweetened Almond Milk I picked up the latest issue of Psychology Today and was impressed by how many great articles it contained.  The psych ones were, not surprisingly, really good, but there were also some excellent reports about food, dieting and exercise.  There was even a nifty recipe for Cremolata, frozen almond milk.

I adore my unsweetened vanilla almond milk.  It tastes terrific and has only 40 calories per cup, with each cup packing a gram of fiber.  The magazine’s Cremolata recipe uses homemade almond milk, but I’m going to simplify it by using the UVAM I have in the pantry.  Just gotta get an ice cream maker and see how it comes out.  If the base is good, the possibilities could be endless!  Imagine using unsweetened chocolate almond milk or the Torani sugar-free syrups or including add-ins like fruit or nuts.  Maybe this will become my signature dish.

Cremolata

Ingredients

  • 5 cups Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
  • 1/4 cup Splenda

Directions

  • Whisk sugar into the almond milk until dissolved.
  • Process in an ice cream maker until frozen.
