On this day, celebrate everything in your life that’s wonderful and enjoy all the good food, too.

A few tips for enjoying without going overboard:

  • Before diving in, take a few moments to peruse all the offerings before you.
  • Focus on those foods that you really love or that you only get to have this one time of year.
  • Use a smaller salad plate or, if you have to use a big dinner plate, fill the bulk of it up with greens.
  • Sip water or other calorie-free beverage between bites.
  • Chew slowly; truly savor the food you’re eating.
